Breast Cancer Awareness month a good reminder to schedule exam

In honor of all the moms, wives, daughters, sisters, aunts, and best friends we’ve lost and with love and respect for all those who fought, survived, and thrive, IEP Urgent Care supports Breast Cancer Awareness month.

All women 50-74 should have an annual breast exam and women 40 and older may wish to consider it. Getting and staying healthy lowers your risk of developing breast cancer and can help improve chances of surviving if it occurs.

If you are a woman between 40-64 years of age who is uninsured or underinsured, you may qualify for free breast and cervical screenings through the Michigan Breast & Cervical Cancer Control Program (BCCCP). Women ages 21-39 may qualify as well.
